Office Move and Server Room Design Ensures Continuity of Operation

Purfresh Inc. turned to Lanlogicto relocate their office LAN and design and build a data center that protected their operations, their servers and their data from chronic power interruptions and stability issues.

PURFRESH PURIFIES PRESERVES AND PROTECTS FOOD AND WATER SUPPLIES

Founded in 1996, Purfresh, Inc. provides clean, chemistry-based solutions for food and water. It offers sunshield products that are used to protect fruits, vegetables, and row crops from harmful solar radiation. It also supplies ozone generators and control equipment for the disinfection of fresh produce, post-harvest cold storage, transportation of fresh produce, water purification for use in pharmaceutical and personal care products, and purification and disinfection of bottled water.

With seven nationwide offices, more than 350 customers in 32 countries rely on Purfresh to help them reduce risk, control costs, and improve the quality of their products and operations.

PURFRESH’S GROWING BUSINESS REQUIRES NEW FACILITIES

As a result of achieving company growth goals and securing a new round of funding, Purfresh needed to move to a larger facility in Fremont, CA. Its business operations needed to be minimally impacted during the move, plus Purfresh required a small operational environment to remain functioning in their existing facility for at least 2-4 weeks after the move.

POWER INSTABILITY CREATES CHALLENGES FOR NEW DATA CENTER

Purfresh’s new Fremont facility is located in a business park that suffers from repeated powerstability issues. Periodic power surges and interruptions are common, requiring the design of a custom data center to compensate for these variations. Server racks were installed to house new cabling, as well as existing and new server systems.

In addition, a local area network (LAN) with wireless access was needed to support a small team of employees in the existing Livermore facility for approximately 2-4 weeks. This outpost group required end user support along with personnel in the new Fremont location.
