DO-IT-YOURSELF MAINTENANCE AND BACK-UPS FALL SHORT

To reduce costs, Knight & Company managed their own server maintenance and backups. Unnoticed by them, the backups were failing for a long period of time. When a catastrophic failure of one of their main, outdated servers happened –leaving them exposed without a backup to restore from –they realized that a better solution was needed.

LANLOGIC RECOVERS KNIGHT & COMPANY’S DATA WHILE DELIVERING SECURE INFRASTRUCTURE

In order to recover Knight & Company’s data and to prevent future disasters from occurring, Lanlogic proposed a three-prong approach:

1. A comprehensive network design was created that delivered server application hosting, file server shares, secure remote access, email hosting, as well as sharedcalendar and address book applications.
2. All necessary hardware and software wasprocured, server migrations completed, and data imported to deliver seamless communication and collaboration benefits for Knight & Company
3. Three new enterprise-class servers in one of Lanlogic’s data centers replaced the aging hardware in the Knight & Company office. All systems are maintained as part of Lanlogic’s comprehensive systems management service. This includes hardware and software management, full-system image-based backups, as well as robust application and network monitoring with real-time alerting. Putting IPSEC firewalls in place improved security at all locations and allowed one point of administration from Lanlogic’s data center.

Working under a 99.9% uptime service level agreement, Lanlogic offers a single vendor to call when technical support is needed.
